THE racing car mechanic who was severely wounded in the cross-fire that killed triad member Andely Chan Yiu-hing in Macau is due to return to Hong Kong within the next few days. Judiciary police sources in Macau said Ho Sun-wing, 26, a suspected triad member, would be sent back to Hong Kong with a police escort as soon as he is fit enough to travel. They said Ho would be given police protection ''for his own good''. ''We are treating him as a victim, not as a possible criminal,'' a judiciary police officer said. Ho, who received a bullet wound in the neck when Chan, a leading member of the Sun Yee On triad, and mechanic Tse Chun-fung were shot 10 days ago, is in a stable condition. The results of the analysis of the bullets used in the attack should be ready by tomorrow. The test results would help to confirm how many guns were used in the shooting. ''They [witnesses] could not even describe what kind of motorcycle helmets they were wearing, nor any other details at all,'' the source said. But Macau police believe the murder, while commissioned by people in Hong Kong, was carried out by paid assassins from China. When Ho leaves Macau, the police will hand over the case to Hong Kong's police force.
