Royksopp are operating in a high- end area of electronic music, where songcraft isn't sacrificed for sonic assault, and melody isn't a dirty word.
It's been said that the warmth of the Norwegian duo's music is a reaction to the cold climate of their homeland, but this goes only so far to explain how Torbjorn Brundtland and Svein Berge can paint such rich musical colours that marry a distinctive 1980s sound with modern electronica.
In the studio, Royksopp are known for producing soaring soundscapes in the vein of French bleepsters Air, but on this revelatory new live outing the duo turn up the more uptempo tracks from their two albums - Melody AM and The Understanding - and prove that they can move the feet as well as the mind.
