SonyEricsson W300i: This handset expands SonyEricsson's Walkman phone series to the entry-level market. It also has more options than you might expect. The W300i comes equipped with a slot to accommodate a Memory Stick Micro, unlike the non-expandable W550i launched recently. As a Walkman phone, the W300i is optimised for music with easy-to-use software and support for flight mode. Other features include a VGA-quality camera and support for EDGE. The W300i is slated to be launched in summer. (Price: to be announced)
Panasonic NV-GS500: Despite the trend of camcorders that use hard disk drives as the core memory, the Panasonic NV-GS500 still relies on MiniDV tapes to store video. This means that the NV-GS500 is slightly bigger than some of its competitors. But it makes up for it with a 3-CCD imaging system, 12X optical zoom lens from Leica Dicomar and sizable 6.8cm widescreen LCD. The NV-GS500 also takes still images with up to 4 megapixels of resolution. (Price: $8,990)
Toshiba TX60: It's being promoted as a music phone, but the TX60 is equipped with a 1GB miniSD card and has the ability to play back full-screen video. This means it can also serve as a portable movie player, although the battery life probably won't last much longer than a full-length movie. As a phone, the TX60 is 3G-enabled, has a 2.3 megapixel camera and a 5.5cm QVGA display. (Price: starts from $3,080 with a 3G service subscription; about $4,180 standalone)
