AFTER two years' preparation, St Stephen's Girls' College recently held a fund-raising bazaar to finance a project of rebuilding part of the school campus.
''The primary section of the college has been demolished and temporarily housed on a Hollywood Road campus,'' said Primary section principal Mrs J. Chua.
''The site will be used for the construction of a larger school hall and state-of-the-art laboratories while the primary school will move to the nearby Henrietta School campus, but this plan has not been finalised,'' said Secondary section principal Mrs K.C. Too.
The school opened two halls, the playground and some classrooms for the bazaar.
In the Kwok Siu Lau Hall, about 10 handicraft stalls were set up. Teachers and parents sold handicrafts ranging from household items like table cloths, cushions, baskets, towels and handkerchiefs, to hand-made dolls and Christmas socks and decorations.
Downstairs, the tantalising smells of Eastern and Western snacks and refreshments filled Ho Tung Hall. Mrs Chua said some of the food was prepared by a cooking team of teachers and students and some by parents.
