A domestic helper has been accused of child abuse after her employer's four-year-old son claimed she had frequently hit him and pinched his private parts.
Filipino Laarni Silva, 32, pleaded not guilty in Fanling Court yesterday. The boy told the court through a video link that Silva had pinched him 'many times' when they were alone in the bathroom.
He said he did not want to see the maid again and was scared of her because 'she would pinch my pee-pee'. Silva had also hit him many times because he could not wipe himself after using the toilet, he said. The boy could not recall exactly when or how many times it had happened.
Cross-examining the boy, the defence lawyer suggested he had complained only once, before school on September 29, which led the family to make a police report.
Dr Cheng Kwok-wai, who examined the boy on that day, said he suffered from pain on his left thigh and redness in his private parts that could have 'resulted from a forceful pull'.
The boy's father, Cheung Kung-wai, said the maid's performance had been unsatisfactory.
