Our school recently took part in an activity called 'Company Programme', which was organised by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK).
We had to set up our own virtual company, issue shares to raise capital, create our own products and sell them to the public. Our company was called Sold What.
On January 14, JAHK organised a trade fair on the ground floor of the HSBC building. We sold our products alongside 60 other schools. We began to decorate our booth at 6am, and sold our goods until 5pm. The theme of our booth was a Chinese character that means 'natural, traditional and silent'.
Our product was 'Cushion + Bag 2 in 1', which was designed by our production department head, Cyrus Mok. What made our design special was that the cushion cover could be separated from the stuffing so that it could double as a bag.
People using our product could use it to carry things or as a cushion when taking a bus or MTR. Many people were interested in our product and 90 per cent of our stock was sold.
It was an invaluable experience for us and we learned many things.
