MILD panic on the hip-hot party scene yesterday when Ciccio Sena, the cool half of million-watt Italian DJ duo Mario and Ciccio, had yet to arrive for their eagerly awaited introduction to Hong Kong's disco crowd.
Mario Iorio (the funky one) arrived from Milan with his wife Cinzia. But his partner had still to tear himself away from his meditation with the sun and sand in Bali and make it here in time for tomorrow night's hop at Judgment AD.
The boys, who are based between Milan and Bali, where they run a fashion business when they are not playing sizzling music and partying, first got their disco act together as a hobby.
But you know how these things go. They enjoyed it so much they turned it into a business called The Energy Group, with Cinzia as manager.
Mario told us: ''During our last visit to Hong Kong we were knocked out by the energy of the place. And with being called The Energy Group, we thought Hong Kong would be a natural place for us to explore.'' Actually, Judgment AD are calling it Mario and Ciccio's ''debut'' in Hong Kong. But Keeping Posted readers know better since this column has already referred to the twosome when they provided the sounds at Marina Bullivant's rave birthday do at Club 1997a few weeks back.
Having alerted the town to their high-energy act, we're glad to know three clubs were anxious to bring them back.
