THERE FOR THE BEER

To most spectators, it's all about the drink. Watching endless games of sevens is all very well, but it's nowhere near as attractive without a steady a supply of the amber nectar close at hand. Last year, spectators at the stadium consumed 90,000 litres of beer and 8,800 litres of Pimms. Up in the corporate boxes the movers, shakers and hangers-on also managed to drink their way through 2,000 bottles of wine and 154 bottles of champagne. That all adds up to a giant hangover come Monday morning. If there's one thing you can count on this weekend, it's the punters - male, female or too-hard-to tell - will be just as thirsty.
