STRIKER Marko Perinovic has been released by South China - but parts with the team on good terms.
South China decided to release the big Australian after the club could not agree on what treatment he should have on his troubled knee which flared up in the opening match of the season in September.
The club wanted Perinovic to have surgery in the territory but the former Instant-Dict and Happy Valley forward wanted treatment done by Western doctors - and that meant a possible trip to Australia.
''I'll probably be boarding a flight back to Canberra on Monday but I'm leaving the club on good terms,'' said Perinovic, who has been given four months' salary on his contract which had seven months to run.
''I'm confident I'll come back from my injury. I then intend to return to Hong Kong and play in the league again.
''I just happen to have been injured in the first game against Eastern and I have given it my best shot to come back but it didn't work out,'' he said.
