Well, there is a secret to their success... And it has to do with strictly following the rules on cosmetic care.
Because dry cabin air and long hours wearing makeup can cause dehydration, Cathay Pacific's Iris Lim, assistant manager for uniform and grooming standards, says flight attendants usually pay a lot of attention to moisturising their skin.
She says the airline has strict rules on cosmetic care, which the cabin crew are expected to follow. This is because, she says, the airline believes grooming makes an impression on the passengers.
'It plays an integral part of our superior service. You can judge if an airline is customer-oriented simply by looking at the grooming of its flight attendants.'
'To show the best to our customers, we have a whole set of grooming regulations for flight attendants and special treatment for skin and hair, because they work under different conditions to ordinary people.'
