Straight A hopeful Rashid Baba is struggling with his studies in the lead up to his final Form Two exams in June.
As one of more than 750 students at HKMA David Li Kwok Po College preparing for final exams, he will be attending maths tutorial classes and cramming social studies and other subjects in search of that perfect score.
'Last year, I started preparing for the final exams in early June, but it was too late,' says Rashid, 14, who did not do well last year. 'So, I will start in early May this year.'
Although beating exam study jitters is easier said than done, veteran test takers have found ways to overcome the problem.
Casey Ho Ka-sin,19, who got straight As in the 2004 HKCEE and is now a first year student studying global business at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, says she used various methods when she studied for the exams.
'The most pragmatic way is to study old exam papers and get familiar with the trends.
