Rock around the clock

SCMP Reporter
Alarm clocks are a necessary evil for people on schedules, which is why the challenge to create ever-smarter designs continues. A distinctive addition to the market is the CMX98, also known as Dondolo (Italian for 'rocking'). Designed by Hong Kong-based Alberto Borgonovo and engineered here, it has an electronic sensor that allows users to turn off the buzzer or AM/FM radio by rocking the clock. The product, on sale for #14.99 ($200) at Argos (www.argos.com.uk) in Britain, is expected to be available in Hong Kong in the middle of the year through www.audioscott.com or www.alfatech.com.hk.
