Marco Caprai from Arnaldo Caprai, which has been voted winery of the year by Italian wine expert Gambero Rossi, will host a wine dinner this evening at Toscana in the Ritz-Carlton. The five-course dinner includes a main course of roasted lamb medallion with thyme, black olives and pumpkin and orange puree, served with the winery's Rosso Outsider 2003 and Montefalco Sagrantino 25 Anni 2003. Michel Portos, executive chef of the Michelin one-star St-James Hauterive at Bouliac in Bordeaux will be at Riva restaurant in the Park Lane Hotel in Causeway Bay until April 29. Portos' dishes include scallop carpaccio with hearts of palm, orange and dill champagne mousse, char-grilled Kurobuta pork chop with artichokes, baby caramel and spiced caramel, and Brittany cookie with strawberries, ginger, mint syrup and lime sherbet. The Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring French cuisine on the dinner buffet in Cafe Allegro. Dishes include baked pike quenelles in casserole, chicken liver pate, salmon coubiliac, homemade fish terrine, pork casserole and French desserts.
