A military school in Guangzhou yesterday denied allegations one of its instructors had indecently assaulted five Hong Kong schoolgirls at a four-day training camp.
A Public Security Bureau officer in Guangzhou said an investigation had been launched after a report was received from the military school. However, the officer said investigators had been unable to contact the five victims.
'The victims have left. Who can we talk with in the investigation?' the officer told Cable TV last night.
Wan Ying College in Ho Man Tin said yesterday that the five students were among 43 secondary pupils and four teachers who had returned to the city on Tuesday, immediately after the alleged incident.
A spokesman for the school said it was 'shocked and disappointed' by the incident.
But the military school denied the allegations.
The school party had arrived at the military school on Monday for a four-day training course. The alleged attack happened at about 4am on Tuesday when the five students, aged between 13 and 15, were asleep in a dormitory for girls.
