The story: The animated comedy is about a group of domesticated animals who escape from a New York City zoo and discover their true calling in the jungle. The plot is similar to last year's Madagascar, but has an added subplot about a father's search for his son.
Sutherland provides the voice of Samson the lion, whose cub has hopped on a ship to Africa. Samson embarks on a journey to find his son, accompanied by a koala (Izzard), an anaconda (Kind), a squirrel (Belushi) and a giraffe (Garofalo).
What to expect: Plenty of action and gags are guaranteed as the animals come across vicious alligators in a sewer before encountering more savage beasts in Africa.
A highlight of the film is Nigel the koala, who is voiced by British comedian Izzard. But biology students may be alarmed by the romance between Benny the squirrel and Bridget the giraffe.
