Chan capitalised on the absence of the territory's star sailors - Sam Wong Tak-sum, Ken Wong Hop-hi and women's world champion Lee Lai-shan - to beat a 70-strong field for top honours. Youth international Anthony Lau was outstanding in the gusty conditions for one win and a second to finish runner-up in the two-day regatta, a result which earned him third place overall in the series behind Sam Wong and Lee.
