Diminutive and nondescript, ChocoHolics is easily overlooked as you walk along Jervois Street, in Sheung Wan. But since the seven-seater eatery opened two months ago, it has quietly been developing a following of office workers smitten by its blueberry cheesecake ($16 per slice, $100 for a whole cake). The chef, Noel Leung, is a 23-year-old sociology graduate whose passion for cakes took her to Vancouver to study baking and pastry. With the savings accumulated from a part-time job and online stock investments, Leung recently returned to Hong Kong to put her baking skills into practice and open ChocoHolics.
Blueberry cheese tart ($10 per three pieces) is another of the establishment's hot items. There is also a set-lunchmenu (from $30 to $34, including dessert or drink) with four options that change daily. The most popular dish is angel hair with smoked salmon ($34).
ChocoHolics is at G/F, 52A Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2581 2206.
