For adventurers wanting something extra from their wristwatch, the Biformeter from Linde Werdelin comes with a clip-on mini computer that acts as an altimeter as well as a barometer, compass, thermometer and heart-rate monitor.

During office hours, the self-winding bezel watch is a dual-zone timepiece with a 42-hour power reserve and it's available in stainless steel and 18ct gold. Watches are shock resistant, pressure tested and guaranteed waterproof to 300 metres.

But it's outside the office the watch really comes into its own as the snap-on rechargeable battery-powered 40 gram digital data bank is sure to lure even the most of stubborn potatoes off the couch and on to the ski slopes, up a mountain or down a cave. Just secure the computer with its double-power arm-locking mechanism, switch on and check the weather, your heart, the altitude or access the log-book to see what you were doing last week. Created by former investment banker Jorn Werdelin and designer Morten Linde, the watches retail from $25,900 up to $122,900, for the gold version with alligator strap.

With the Land edition pencilled in for a Hong Kong launch in June, Sea and Air instruments are already in the pipeline. Local distributors have yet to be named, but will be announced soon on www.lindewerdelin.com.
