I am writing to express our sincere appreciation for the very high-quality coverage by Simon Parry on the suicide rate reduction which appeared in Friday's edition of the City section.
Though all the Chinese-language newspapers have run the story, we feel that the Post's piece is the best one since it captured the essence of the whole subject.
Furthermore, Mr Parry's coverage of this topic has been very effective in dismissing some of the myths on suicides in the territory. He has articulated the problem very well, and is very influential and effective in shaping the discussion and opinion of suicide prevention in Hong Kong.
On behalf of the centre, I would like to congratulate the Post for producing such high-quality coverage.
