NEC has unveiled two new 24-pin printers, the P1200 and P1300, targeted at small-to medium-sized companies and home users.
''The new Pinwriter P1200 and P1300 combine two important factors for choosing a printer, being multi-functional and economical. NEC has been known for its quality and its printers have been chosen by many government departments and large corporations. The new printers take this one step further to reach the home users,'' an NEC Hong Kong spokesman said.
The Pinwriter P1200 and P1300 offer multi-paper handling capability, high-speed printing, many built-in fonts and economical printing ribbons. The Pinwriter P1200 is listed for $1,680, and the P1300 for $2,800.
Dot-matrix printer sales, which reached a record level last year, still made up the biggest sales volume because they were cheaper to run in the long run, he said.
