Diva's brother sues hospital
The elder brother of Canto-pop diva Anita Mui Yim-fong has filed a High Court writ against the hospital where the singer died in 2003 at 40.
Peter Mui Kai-ming is suing Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital for $3 billion over his sister's treatment for cervical cancer. He is likely to ask their mother, Tam Mei-kam, to give evidence.
Mr Mui yesterday appeared in the Master's Court, seeking an adjournment of 28 days for filing evidence in support of his case, including his mother's affidavits.
He said his sister received treatment for cervical cancer before she died, yet she was treated for her liver on several occasions.
'How come she had been arranged for liver [treatment] eight times?' he said in court yesterday.
