Rumours have been rife that some tickets for Macau-born Italian-Myanmese duo Soler's April gig at the Coliseum were sold at discount prices; and they were recently confirmed by Julio Acconci, one half of the singing twins (below, right). CitySeen thinks it has to do with the record companies being too aggressive these days, promoting fresh talent who have only got one or two albums from which to perform. But Julio has his own opinion about the discounts - he reckons prices were dropped because their younger fans couldn't afford the tickets. 'Apparently it's quite common for this to happen in Hong Kong; when you have ticket prices that not everyone can afford, it might put the fans off from attending the show.' As well as preparing for the concert, the twins were asked to write a song for the comic book-based movie Dragon Tiger Gate by the male lead, Donnie Yen Ji-dan. 'We didn't have time to write something from scratch, so we pulled an unfinished song out of the pile and tweaked it to blend in with the movie.' The movie is based on a story about brothers, which the twins felt was appropriate.
