Michelle Wie will have to wait another 24 hours to see how high she can finish in her first money-earning men's professional event after torrential rain washed out the third round of the SK Telecom Open in Seoul yesterday.
The 16-year-old had not ruled out winning this event, but said she would have fun just trying.
'I'm just going to try and play another good, solid round tomorrow and to play as well as I played over the first two days,' said Wie. 'If I play well tomorrow that's great. If I don't win that's OK, but I'm just going to play my hardest tomorrow and see what happens.' Wie revealed that she would play several other men's events this year, mostly on the US PGA Tour. 'I'll play the US Open qualifying in Hawaii, the John Deere Classic, hopefully the US Open - crossing my fingers for that one - and the 84 Lumber Classic. I'll also play the Casio Open,' she said.
With play being washed out, a hastily arranged press conference was organised for the foreign press yesterday.
When asked what would be the most important thing she could achieve in her professional career, Wie went right for the top. 'Winning the Masters, getting player of the year on the PGA Tour - that would be ridiculous, but that's what I'm here for, to do ridiculous things if you think about it, and that's what excites me,' she said.
The same reporter asked Wie if she really believed she could accomplish those things, and she replied with a confident smile: 'Yeah, they're definitely possible. It just depends on how motivated I am, how much I'm wiling to sacrifice for them, and you know what, I think I'm ready to do it.'
