A child dressed as a princess battles the heat during a second parade of floats yesterday at the Cheung Chau Bun Festival. About 11,000 people turned out for the event at the Pak Tai Temple, the first time in 28 years a second parade has been held. That was far below the 50,000 who lined the streets for the first parade.

About 200 people queued for their share of 20,000 buns being given away. But many were disappointed to find them not as fresh as they might be after nearly a week on the bun tower, the climbing of which at midnight on Friday marked the festival's climax.
