At the MTV Asia Awards in Bangkok on Saturday, CitySeen experienced the 'Twins Effect'. The two songstresses in their early twenties beat down Andy Lau Tak-wah, Joey Yung Cho-yee and Eason Chan Yick-shun to be named favourite Hong Kong artist.

No wonder the local music industry has been so obsessed with the twins concept lately, with Soler, and Janice and Jill Vidal on the rise. It also came as a surprise that Twins have fans in Thailand. The duo were met by about 30 fans at the airport in Bangkok.

Another pretty face was Taiwan's Jolin Tsai Yi-lin, who garnered the style award.

There's nothing wrong with her sexy looks, but CitySeen reckons the star, who has been getting into dance music lately, seemed to be miming as her voice did not trail off when the microphone slipped from her face.

The favourite mainland artists were Vicki Zhao Wei and Wang Leehom, while Ricky Martin and Kelly Clarkson picked up the awards for favourite male and female artists in the international category.

Reporters got to stay at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, yet sadly were denied the opportunity to mingle with the stars at the after-show party.
