Macau windfall

LAND franchises and gambling receipts in Macau contributed to a higher than expected government income for 1993. Governor General Vasco Rocha Vieira announced an expected total of 9.52 billion patacas (about HK$9.14 billion), of which 51 per cent comes from gambling and other betting franchise operations.
