Shopping malls around the territory are hosting an ongoing three-a-side football tournament to celebrate the spirit of joga bonito (Portuguese for 'play beautiful').
Almost 3,000 players have signed up for the competition designed to introduce the Brazilian futsal-style of small-field soccer.
Futsal is the indoor version of football officially sanctioned by Fifa, the game's governing body. It's name is derived from the Portuguese futebol de salao, which means 'hall football'.
The second round of the Nike Joga 3 Futsal Football Threes 2006 was held at Tseung Kwan O's East Point City mall last Sunday.
A total of 140 teams took part, aiming to qualify for the finals, which will be held at an as yet unconfirmed venue (another mall) on June 17 and 18.
The tournament kicked off last month at the New Town Plaza mall in Sha Tin. There are four age group categories, plus a Mini World Tournament - an event for under-13 players.
There is also a men's open and women's open.
