The project has come into being through Panerai's deep understanding of Ferrari, its culture and cars. The Panerai team has set out to create a unique piece that translates the unmistakable Ferrari style into the dimensions of a wristwatch.

The styling of the Ferrari watches is strongly influenced by the car's aesthetically pleasing lines; many of the design features suggest features sported on Ferrari cars.

The watches come in two collections, Grantourismo and Scuderia.
