Creative player offers four fresh takes on mechanical movements, and raises the tourbillon complication to new heights
All too often Piaget is thought of solely as a company that creates sumptuous jewellery. The true picture reveals a fully fledged manufacture, driven by artistic boldness.
Since 1874, Piaget has cultivated its skills as a manufacture by designing and producing mechanical movements in the northwest canton of La Cote-aux-Fees. From its beginnings, Piaget earned a reputation as a crafter for most of the prestigious brands in Switzerland.
It was not until the mid-20th century that it chose to create and place emphasis on its own brand. But it quickly gained fame for its exceptional horological and jewellery creations.
By equipping its own watches with proprietary movements, the company joined the select circle of the Haute Horlogerie.
In the past decade, Piaget has witnessed intensive creativity in the development of its mechanical movements, particularly with the launch of its 11 ligne in-house movements.
