Sharpen that hot summer image with a glint of urban chic
Inexpensive jewellery is an easy way to funk up an outfit and not have to pay designer prices.
The summer Diesel collection gets its urban overtones from materials that include silver, turquoise, mother-of-pearl and coral. The six different lines are a reference to modern street culture.
Three additions join the existing Prehysterical, Denim Charms and Only The Brave lines.
For men, there is the nomadic Collage collection, with its references to Asia and ancient pilgrim routes. Items include a necklace made of mother-of-pearl horn and reconstructed coral with assorted crosses, chains and identity cylinders attached to a chain link bracelet with chunky charms.
For women, there are two new lines. The Ransom selection is inspired by the letters that might be used in a ransom note: necklaces and earrings are adorned with bold alphabet shapes and others discreetly hidden in lockets.
The Armorial line is characterised by simple chains with accessories inspired by family crests interspersed with turquoise star and heart shapes.
From Calvin Klein comes the ck wish bracelet. Oval and round links in sterling silver make up a chain fastened by a toggle closure. It comes with two sets of charms.
Steel metal is sandblasted and brushed to bring out the light on shiny and opaque surfaces in the new Breil Snake collection. Masculine styles are imposed on female jewellery, resulting in clusters of twisted steel pieces forming necklaces and bracelets.
Softer on the eye is the Steel Leaves collection. Inspired by nature, sheaves of leaves are rendered in contemporary style, with amethyst accenting some of the pieces.
Ethnic design with vintage flair inspires Fossil's new four-piece collection: necklace, bracelet, earrings and ring. Synthetic coloured pearls, zirconia stones and wood beads are set in stainless steel. Contemporary in its simplicity is the hoop necklace with a motif pendant and matching earrings.
The men's collection fuses leather and metal. Pieces include a woven leather bracelet and a leather bracelet that coils twice around the wrist. Tattoo-inspired pieces come in the form of pendants with black inlaid designs hanging off knotted leather cords.
