Neil Young
Living with War

Having previously taken on the elder President Bush with 1989's furious Keep on Rockin' in the Free World, it's only now, after five years of Dubya's missteps, that Young has decided that we 'Don't need no stinkin' war' - as he growls on opener After the Garden. Although the conceptual Greendale proved itself a damning indictment of modern America, Living with War names names and pulls no punches.
This self-released protest record - available on Young's website and as a download - arrives at a time when it's no longer considered unpatriotic to criticise the President.
Whereas the DixieChicks were pilloried for it two years ago, Kanye West was applauded for his post-Katrina comments last year. Then there's the argument that, being Canadian, Young ought to be minding his own business, despite having made the US his home of 40 years.
