Q Are the Tuen Mun Park self-entertainment zones and time restrictions fair?
More and more people are concerned about the Tuen Mun Park incident. In fact, it is really a controversial issue and it is difficult for the government to solve the problem.
In my opinion, there is no sense in arranging music concerts in the community centre or the town hall. In fact, elderly people hold the concerts in the park because of convenience. It is easy to gather the musicians in the park and audiences can participate in the performances.
If the show is to be held in the town hall, it would become very inconvenient. They need to make applications to carry out the performances, which is rather time-consuming and troublesome. The applicants also need to pay for the administrative costs.
Therefore, I think the government should be more open-minded by allowing the musicians to hold their performances in the park. Since there is no housing estate around, no residents are disturbed. But other visitors to the park complained, and I would suggest the musicians be self-disciplined.
To balance the interests of both sides, the government may restrict the show times and the venues it will allow for performances.
