Bored with radio in Hong Kong? AsiaXPAT has debuted a 24-hour online classic rock station. According to managing director Paul Luciw (left), the popular website's soft-launched station will be one of those 'all-music-all-the-time' broadcasts as they endlessly rotate the 'greatest rock tunes of all time'. 'We've been working on it for a few months,' Luciw explains. 'Our audience's average age is 41 so we know they don't want R&B or dance music, so we figure classic rock is the kind of music that would please our members. It's also what me and my brother [business director John Luciw] like. Andy Curtis, who used to work at RTHK, is doing all our station IDs. We can't do live like a real radio station. It's too expensive. This is a marketing thing, not a money spinner.' So, this is the place for your fix of The Eagles, Coldplay, Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones, with little chatter in between. However, there is one Led Zeppelin classic they're neglecting. 'We don't play Stairway To Heaven. It's too long.'
