MAGICAL PUPPET SHOW

The UK's top puppeteer is bringing his magical show,  In Suspension, to  Hong Kong.

Stephen Mottram  was one of the four main puppet operators on the Danish feature film, Strings. He has performed  in nearly 40 countries since 1990.

Based on acute observation of  human movement, the show plays with our perceptions of everyday life, such as gravity and balance.

In Suspension will be staged at 8pm on Friday at the Sha Tin Town Hall, 8pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday at Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Student tickets from $50 to $80 ($100 to $160 for adults) are available from Urbtix on 2734 9009.

SHAKESPEAREAN COMEDY

Faust Festival will present As You Like It, a classic comedy that has delighted audiences for centuries with its keen observations of human behaviour.

Based on  Rosalynde, a prose work written by Thomas Lodge in 1950, William Shakespeare wrote the play in around 1599.

Jessica Lefkow will direct the play,  which is about hidden identity and the search for true love. It tells the story of Rosalind, the daughter of a banished duke, who falls in love with Orlando, the disinherited son of one of the duke's friends.

The performance will be staged in English from Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm and June 8 to 10, at 10.30am and 7.30pm, at Hong Kong Arts Centre's Shouson Theatre. Reservations from Urbtix.
