Q Have you had a Bus Uncle experience?

I have recently experienced two such events in the span of a week by boorish individuals who think they have the right to humiliate, threaten and abuse others in public, simply because they 'have pressure'. In one case, it was that of a woman who became abusive.

I would like to thank the police who answered my call last week. However, I was disappointed at the limited actions and powers of the police.

Apparently, it seems, the constables were not able to act against or charge abusive individuals for causing a disturbance in public, using abusive language and issuing threats of making false molestation, a favourite weapon by uneducated women in Hong Kong to get their way. Fortunately, my wife was with me and there was a security camera, and many other witnesses.

Let the public know such behaviour is unacceptable, and would be dealt with by police, rather than looking at it as a form of illness and hope it will go away - otherwise everybody will claim they have a mental illness.

I think the 'Bus Uncle' is not under stress at all, he is just a big bully who thinks he is always right. From his posture (towering over the young man) and gestures (jabbing fingers), he is a bully rather than a victim of stress.
