EDUCATORS WHO want to broaden their horizons can now consider a career on the mainland. The University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKUSpace) is on an expansion drive and needs teachers and programme management professionals.
HKU Space has been operating on the mainland since 2000 and has projects in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Hangzhou. It is looking for full-time lecturers, part-time lecturers and programme management professionals who will work at various locations around the country.
The school has hundreds of students on the mainland and is looking to more than double its enrolment by the end of this year.
Daniel Yan, associate head of the division of management studies at HKU Space, said such positions would help educators work in a diverse environment.
He said schools on the mainland had local students from different provinces and a few foreign students, which was different from the largely Cantonese environment in Hong Kong.
'Lecturers will get the chance to work in a cross-cultural environment,' Dr Yan said.
