Updated at 6.58pm: The Hong Kong Cyberport Management on Monday announced that Kowloon Motor Bus executive director Winnie Ng Wing-mui was appointed to its board of directors.
Ms Ng would serve a one-year term on Cyberport's board, the board said. She has been serving as a council member in the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation, the Agency for Volunteer Service and the Community Chest.
Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology (Communications and Technology) Francis Ho Suen-wai said Ms Ng had extensive experience in the private and public sector.
With Ms Ng??s appointment, the board now has 10 non-government directors and two government directors. The government directors are: Mr Ho and Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Alan Lai Nin.
The $15.8 billion IT project is managed by Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company and wholly owned by the government. It is being developed on a 24-hectare site at Telegraph Bay which is in the southern district of Hong Kong Island.
It comprises four office buildings, a five-star hotel, a retail entertainment complex and a deluxe residential development. Its developers aimed to create an interactive environment that will be home to a strategic cluster of about 100 IT companies and 10,000 IT professionals.
