This season it's various permutations of a figure- flattering but comfortable dress.

Fashion no-nos?

Having to always wear some- thing branded. It's so much  more fun and original to discover new designers.

What do you always wear?

Every day is different. I dress according to my mood.

Favourite shoe designer?

YSL is great this season. I'm using the toffee-coloured platforms a lot. I've always loved Sergio Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Rene Caovilla, Alaia and Christian Louboutin.

Must-have accessory?

I want another Spy bag!  I also love the Rivington bag by Rafe.

Handbag pick for this season? An evening clutch from Chanel - the one that looks like gold bullion. I'm in love with it.  I appreciate it when something  is designed well.

Most cherished fashion item?

I'm an unfaithful fashion-lover. My most cherished item is always the most recent one I bought.

Style icon?

I admire the old establishment for their  trend-setting style, including Grace Kelly, Jackie Onassis and Jane Birkin. But I really like  the young Hollywood set.  Nicole Richie has got it going on.

Who'd design your Oscars dress?

J. Mendel is elegant yet young.

I also love Angel Sanchez and Rochas.

Boho or ladylike?

Definitely ladylike. Sienna Miller may get Boho down to a T, but it makes me look like I'm in costume.

Fashion disaster?

The strap of my stiletto snapped at the end of my birthday party,  leaving me to walk down a long flight of stairs barefoot.

Favourite shopping destinations?

Hong Kong is a shopping haven.  In Paris I like the whole stretch of Rue du Four, Rue de Rennes and Boulevard St Germain. I call it the Bermuda triangle of shopping because you can get lost there.

Favourite Asian designer?

Dorian Ho has elegant and  Oscar-worthy confections. In Manila I love Jun Escario. He  does feminine the way I like it.
