The Open Day of Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School was held on April 21. The Lut Sau Hall was a hive of activity as 27 clubs and associations set up various displays that showcased the students' ability, school life and achievements. It was the first open day under the leadership of new principal Margaret Lo Choy Yin-fon. In her welcome speech, Mrs Lo praised the students for organising the exhibitions. She said the event helped students to show their creativity and problem-solving skills, and also learn the importance of co-operation and teamwork. Instead of cutting a ribbon at the opening ceremony, balloons were pricked and the popping sound reminded the audience of firecrackers that symbolise the beginning of a new era. Visitors, including about 100 primary school students, said the displays and games were interesting, while the student volunteers were very helpful. The performances by the school band added to the festive atmosphere in the hall. The Best Display, Best Stall Design and Best Reception Awards were won by the Computer Club, Campus Broadcasting Committee and Information Technology Support and Service Team. Their joint demonstration of the school's IT facilities, different aspects of students' school life and the latest computer programs impressed visitors and teachers.
