As reported in Outtakes last week, former Dokken guitarist George Lynch will be in Hong Kong this weekend to teach some licks to aspiring axemen. Next month, it's the drummers' turn, with Dom Famularo hosting a clinic at the same venue, Hitec, on July 10.

Famularo is considered one of the world's top motivational drum instructors, and was voted No1 clinician by Modern Drummer magazine. The native of Long Island, New York, brings elements of jazz, funk, fusion and world music into his sound, and was tutored by greats Jim Chapin, Al Miller and Joe Morello.

Famularo doesn't rely on affiliations with big bands to promote his clinics, but he has shared the stage with the likes of the Buddy Rich Big Band, B.B. King and Lionel Hampton.

'My goal is to entertain and motivate,' says Famularo. 'There is a tremendous freedom that comes with playing drums, and I want to inspire as many people as possible to discover the exciting opportunity for personal development and satisfaction that comes from playing such a fun and enjoyable instrument.'

The clinic starts at 8pm and tickets are $80.
