Milano in the Sun Hung Kai Centre in Wan Chai is offering a set dinner this month. Appetisers, include beef carpaccio with watercress salad and horseradish dressing, seared duck liver with sauteed pine nuts and raisins with aged balsamic jus, or mushroom cappuccino with nutmeg. The pasta course is either Sardinian pasta with fresh pork sausage in tomato sauce with saffron and basil, or ravioli of crushed fava beans with ricotta and fresh mint. The main course choices are veal escalopes with Marsala cream sauce, or grilled Dover sole with asparagus and gremolata dressing. Dessert is a choice of tiramisu or chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. The meal, which comes with a glass of Frascati Superiore Fontana Candida or Sangiovese di Toscana Luigi Cecchi, is $248 plus 10 per cent for three courses, or $278 for four. Bookings: 2598 1222.

Panorama restaurant at the New World Renaissance Hotel in Kowloon is featuring white asparagus until the end of next month. Dishes include (right, from left) fresh white asparagus from Cavaillon with white truffle-flavoured foamy butter, white asparagus with oven-baked Portobello mushrooms and parmesan cheese, and lemongrass-braised yabbies and seared tuna sashimi with seafood, riesling broth and fresh white Black Forest asparagus. Penfolds winemaker Oliver Crawford will host a dinner on June 15 at Gaddi's at the Peninsula in Tsim Sha Tsui. The five-course dinner includes red wine-braised oxtail with horseradish royale served with the Penfolds St Henri Shiraz 2001, poached Atlantic turbot fillet with liquorice sauce paired with the Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 2000, and slow-cooked lamb loin with black truffles and Madeira paired with the Grange Shiraz 1999. Also at the Peninsula are the unlimited family set dinners on Wednesday to Friday nights until August 31 at Imasa Japanese restaurant. Guests can have as much as they want of five types of sashimi and hand rolls, three selections of appetisers and hot dishes, plus soups, salads and noodles. Every two guests will be served 60g of sea urchin sashimi. The dinner is $390 plus 10 per cent for adults and $230 for children. Bookings: 2315 3175.
