For overall stock picking and earnings forecasts, BOCI Research brokerage has come top in the 2005 StarMine analysts awards which focus on Hong Kong and mainland firms. The individual awards went to Peter Bai of China International Capital Corp and Jonas Jan of Daiwa Institute of Research - analysts covering the property sectors on both sides of the border. The rankings were compiled by San Francisco-based StarMine whose analyst-tracking services are used by many investment banks to rate their own research teams.
