Germany will clash with England in an innovative mini-world cup tournament to be held inside a giant film studio in Tseung Kwan O this weekend.
The mini-world cup for under-14 players is part of the final round of the Nike Joga 3 Futsal competition, which has seen preliminary rounds take place in shopping malls on four weekends over the past three months.
Eight 'national' teams will join the three-a-side event, which mainly features students from international schools.
Just like in the real World Cup, the teams have been divided into groups of four, where they will play each other once in a round-robin format.
Germany have been drawn with England, Portugal and Hong Kong, while France, Australia, the United States and Japan are in the other group. After playing three matches, each lasting three minutes, the top two in each group will advance to the Joga Cup, and the bottom two, to the Joga Plate.
The mini-world cup is for players born in 1993 or after, and all, except for Hong Kong, are from countries which qualified for the 2006 Fifa World Cup in Germany. Each nation has five to 10 players in their squad.
