Violinist Luca Ciarla's tribute to five giants of Italian film music comprised arrangements of works by Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Fiorenzo Carpi, Luis Bacalov and Nicola Piovani. Between them, they created hundreds of film soundtracks, giving Piovani's statement that 'too many film scores make a composer a hack' a cautionary sentiment for this City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong project.

Cinema Amore Mio provided a relaxing opportunity for the audience to travel down memory lane. Missing, however, was the sound spectrum of the original scores - from lush symphonic to individually eccentric.
