Chinese University of Hong Kong - Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community College will launch two new associate degree programmes in science and finance in September.
The Associate of Science Programme in Life Science organised by the college's Chinese medicine and health care school will share the laboratory facilities of the university's biology and biochemistry departments.
It covers disciplines from biomolecules and viruses, to research into humans and living organisms. Students will also learn about molecular architecture, such as biochemistry and immunology, and the structure of ecosystems.
The programme will help students appreciate the development and application of life sciences and biomedical knowledge in the world. They also can integrate basic knowledge with the latest in biotechnology and life science theories, and apply them on a practical level.
The graduates may apply for a bachelor degree programme in biochemistry or biotechnology.
The college's business administration and tourism management school will launch the Associate of Business Programme in Financial Services.
