Everyone is producing homeware these days: fashion houses, luggage companies and now jewellery designers. In the case of American John Hardy - who made a name for himself crafting bold silver bangles, chokers and earrings in Indonesia - it makes perfect sense. The jeweller turned his flair for design to home interiors when he created a nest for himself in Bali and needed to furnish it. Apparently adopting the island's aesthetic principle that the everyday should be beautiful, he created a handmade collection distinguished by curved silhouettes and made of materials such as palm wood, buffalo horn and deerskin. Hardy's picture frames, candles and tableware, including a silver pitcher (far right; $15,500) and 'coconut bowl with feet' (right; $2,300), are available from Lane Crawford in the IFC Mall, Central.
