A Hong Kong student was named one of the top 10 students at an international youth art festival in Macedonia.
Cherry Li Tsz-wai of Yew Chung International School represented the SAR at last month's The Small Montmartre of Bitola 2006, an annual event for children's art celebrating its 25th anniversary and organised by the Macedonian government.
This year, it attracted more than 100 young artists from 30 teams around the world.
Cherry participated in the week-long art and cultural exchange with Elaine Elizabeth Au Chun-ning and Michelle Lau Hiu-tung - her schoolmates at Simply Art creative painting studio.
They were accompanied by their instructors Henry Lau Hoo-cheong and Iris Lee Chui-fan.
During their stay in Macedonia, which gained independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, the team had to compete with the other teams in a drawing contest.
And Cherry was eventually chosen as one of the best 10.
