AN 'Ethical Toolbox' has won university student Kenneth Luk King-fai a global business ethics contest.
The second-year Polytechnic University student has written a series of booklets to present his ethical decision-making guidelines - starting with the heart and encompassing ethics, the law, religion and customs, then reaching out to friends, family, society and the world.
'Toolboxes' from Sandy Ruan Qianting, a first-year PolyU accounting student, and Apple Hung Ting-ting, a second-year business management student at Lingnan University, came second and third.
The competition was part of the Global Business Ethics Programme organised by Junior Achievement Hong Kong and sponsored by ExxonMobil.
The objective was to encourage young people to develop personal and ethical values and prepare them for careers in the international market place.
In April, more than 400 university and senior secondary students were presented with a case study involving workers at a company facing a series of ethical dilemmas.
