Cuisine:  Cantonese.

Price: Less than $600 for four.

Ambience: It's difficult to find Good Fortune because it's located in a serviced apartment building and  there's no large sign advertising the restaurant. We went on a Tuesday night, and the eatery - decorated in yellows and browns - was quiet. Most diners seemed to be regulars.

Pros: Reasonably priced food.

Cons: The lemon chicken ($88 half bird, $160 whole bird) was too sour.

Recommended dishes: Start with the summer favourite of whole winter melon soup ($138, right). It's popular now  because it's said to have cooling qualities. Steamed inside a whole winter melon, the rich broth takes on the sweetness of the gourd as well as other ingredients such as mushrooms, shrimp and lotus seed. It's a generous portion  at a  good price. Steamed bamboo pith with crab meat, crab roe and egg white ($75, left) was a creative, healthy dish, although it was a little  too watery.

What else? You can get two hours  free parking if you spend $400 or more.
