Wong Siu-lun, convenor for the Support Group on Population Policy, tells a forum that the policy that allows 150 mainlanders a day to settle in Hong Kong has led to a serious imbalance between the number of men and women because most of those who take up the offer are women. He was speaking at the first of a series of discussion forums of the Council for Sustainable Development, which is seeking public opinion on raising the retirement age, attracting new talent to Hong Kong and supporting the integration of mothers into the workforce.
